– Thanks for sharing it. So before we delve into our conversation, can you tell our readers a little about yourself and what you’re working on?

My name is Yareli Montilla and I am the president and owner of Las Carolinas Miami, Which is a company dedicated to the organization and planing of corporate and social events, I was and raised in Venezuela and I have been living in Miami for the last 9 years, I am a proud Wife and mother of two girls and one boy, I am a certified event planner and I dedidated full time to my company and Family,

– Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of ignorance that were most impactful on your journey? What advice do you have for people who are at the beginning of their journey in terms of the best way to develop or improve them?

One of the challenges that I had to overcome and learn was how to cope was the logistic, specially the short period of time you for set up prior to the events. My advice to the everyone in this journey is to keep innovating and educating yourself constantly to be able to compete and succeed, keep in mind and value your work when it comes to pricing it is not an easy field requires lots of time and sacrifice, with a positive attitude and consistency success will come.

– Let’s talk about success in general. What do you think it takes to be successful?

Success requires consistency, positive attitude and hard work, keep educating yourself and don’t give up, success will come.

– When you started your business, what was the biggest challenge you faced and how did you overcome it?
.
the biggest challenge was to understand the market and develop my team and vendors, I attended lots of networking events to create relationship with vendor, study the clientele I wanted to target and we developed a marketing plan by creating a website, magazine ads, trade shows events, sponsoring etc.

– Decision making is key in any career. Can you share an example of a difficult decision you had to make and how it impacted you?

The pandemic took a big toll to everyone, I had to reinvent my entire strategy , made extremely hard decisions for the better good but always with a positive attitude I was able to succeed.

– How have you handled moments of doubt or uncertainty in your entrepreneurial journey?

By been positive and calm, do not make decisions randomly without analyzing.

– Balancing your personal and professional life can be complicated. How do you manage this balance in your life as an entrepreneur?

I am organized, schedules to be able to create a good balance, even tho it is a sacrifice that needs to be done if you want to succeed.

– What advice would you give to someone thinking about starting their own business?
.
The event world is big, the first thing to do is to define which branch you will get into, corporate, social, planning, caterings, cakes, balloons, etc.

– What role has networking played in the growth of your business?
.
A big one, is fundamental to be able to grow and get your business exposure.
– To close this conversation, what would you say to those who are about to embark on their own entrepreneurial journey, but are still hesitant to take the first step?

No risk, No gain persevere and be positive
– At what point in your life did or would you use the phrase “It’s Just Business”?

When sometimes things are slow and revenue is hard to reach, it’s just business” you need to keep going
